Overview:

In this class the instructor will cover the following topics in an attempt to give the attendees a good general overview of the principles of respirator selection and use.

Topics covered will include:

  • When Respirators are needed
  • Permissible Exposure Limits (PEL’s)
  • Types of respirators and their limitations
  • Immediately Dangerous to Life and Health (IDLH) Atmospheres
  • Emergency Escape Respirators
  • What you must do when respirators are required
  • Fit Test/Fit Checks
  • What you must do when respirators are optional
     (worn voluntarily)
