In this class the instructor will cover the following topics in an attempt to give the attendees a good general overview of the principles of respirator selection and use.
Topics covered will include:
- When Respirators are needed
- Permissible Exposure Limits (PEL’s)
- Types of respirators and their limitations
- Immediately Dangerous to Life and Health (IDLH) Atmospheres
- Emergency Escape Respirators
- What you must do when respirators are required
- Fit Test/Fit Checks
- What you must do when respirators are optional
(worn voluntarily)
