Interview Techniques and Report Writing with Misconduct Investigations: Completely Updated with Focus on Concrete Techniques to Reach Solid Results

Overview

While this webcast is open to all EIA members, some of the Eyres Law Group Services are only available to members of the PWC and/or GL1 programs.

Overview

Prior webinars have addressed the legal and policy basics of misconduct investigations. This webinar will focus entirely on a realistic case study. The presenter will provide hands-on approaches for interviewing an array of witnesses, from the complainant and the target of the investigation, to supervisors and co-workers. We will provide concrete examples of gathering concrete facts from witnesses who run the gamut from cooperative, reluctant, fearful or downright hostile.

Learning Objectives

In this webinar we will cover:

  • How to find the truth, identify exaggerations or fabrications and reach conclusions.
  • Realistic strategies for report writing, drawn from the examples of widely divergent witness accounts.
  • Examples of reports that lead to effective corrective action, when misconduct is substantiated.
  • The webinar will end with examples of real-world investigation reports and explanations of passages that worked for and against work for, or against public entity employers in the courtroom.
