Hazard Communication and The Globally Harmonized System (GHS)

Overview

Workers are exposed to hazardous chemicals daily in the workplace. Such conditions may pose a serious health threat. Cal/OSHA requires training regarding this risk. In this course presented by Sr. Loss Prevention Specialist, John Gargiulo, you will learn about the HazCom (Hazardous Communication) Standard and the new Globally Harmonized System (GHS), and how to use Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) and chemical labels to protect employees or yourself from hazardous substances.

Who Should Take This Class?

Employees who handle hazardous chemicals and/or materials in their workplace are required to receive OSHA Hazard Communication and GHS training. Supervisors who manage people handling hazardous material should also take this class. These materials can include, but are not limited to: solvents, cleaners, caustics, flammables, and toxic materials.
