Job Description

The Information Technology Specialist will provide assistance to the Information Technology Department including, but not limited to: provide support for all IT operations in the office related to PC’s, printers, telephones, and audio/video equipment. This position also serves as the backup to the Senior IT Specialist for Infrastructure related items (servers, network, and storage). Receive, manage and work helpdesk support tickets from staff related to technology issues to support the business. Prepare, review, and edit system and training documentation, conduct training, and perform special projects. The position will report directly to the Chief Information Officer.

The IT Department consists of fifteen positions, including the Chief Information Officer (CIO). The department is made up of three teams who have very different functions and responsibilities:
• Digital: Primarily responsible for administering and maintaining website and other information systems, including pool management system. Business analysis and solutions implementation.
• Claims: Primarily responsible for supporting the claims system, the claims department and our members who use our claims system.
• Technology Support: Primarily responsible for supporting and maintaining all IT hardware, and software to support the business.

All members of the IT Department are expected to develop an overall, well rounded knowledge of the systems and applications IT supports, so that they can assist users in areas outside their specialty.

About the Position

The ideal candidate will have an Associates’ Degree and two years of increasingly responsible work experience to successfully perform the essential functions of the job, including but not limited to:
• Strong attention to detail.
• Write clearly and succinctly.
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to analyze data for validity.
• Ability to research and evaluate solutions/technologies, such as usability, reliability, performance, supportability, and security.
• Proven experience using technology to solve business problems.
• Ability to negotiate and coordinate with third parties on contract, service level agreements, management of services, etc.
• Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
• Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Ability to provide guidance and training to users on technical subjects.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, projects and changing work load.
• Intermediate to advanced computer application skills especially in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat.

Physical Requirements
Physical requirements of this position typically include:  reaching, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, repetitive motions, occasionally lifting, exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move.

Special Requirements

Possession of a valid State of California Driver’s License issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles, or the ability to obtain one within the first month of employment. Proof of auto insurance with no exclusion for business use is required.
