Committees
Do you want to know what's happening at the EIA or see how decisions are made? Start at the committee level - this is where the action begins!
The EIA's 15 active committees allow the membership to participate in the development, governance, oversight and future direction of all of the EIA's programs and services.
Membership involvement is a critical component of the success of the EIA. Currently, over 120 members sit on our committees and generously provide their time, expertise and leadership for this organization.
There are two types of committees - program committees and advisory committees. The program committees are responsible for managing and administering their programs, including approving new members, renewals and premiums. The advisory committees act under the direction of the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors.
The Executive Committee consists of 11 members, elected by the Board of Directors annually in October. Each year, the EIA solicits interest from the membership to serve on the various committees. Appointments are then made by the Executive Committee at their January meeting.
