STOPit Pilot Program Extended Through June 2018!
The EIA’s pilot program with STOPit, the incident reporting tool, is now extended through next June, and we are looking for members to join, free of charge! There are openings for four counties, four cities, and four schools. STOPit’s incident reporting platform is a simple, fast and powerful solution for real-time anonymous reporting of inappropriate behavior (bullying, sexual harassment, etc.) and social risks (workplace violence, workers’ compensation fraud, property vandalism, etc.). Contact the EIA for more information and to sign up for this innovative program.
GFOA Distinguished Budget Award 17/18
The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) awarded the Finance Department the Distinguished Budget Award for the EIA’s Fiscal 2017/18 Budget. This award is the result of the collaborative work between the committees and staff to produce a budget that serves as a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide, and a communications device. Check out the Finance Department on the EIA’s LinkedIn page!

Fire Related EWC Claims Information
A communication was sent to members of the EWC Program regarding possible workers’ compensation claims that entities may have that are in some way connected to the various fires that occurred across the state this Fall. If you did not receive that communication but have fire-related claims, please contact the EIA’s Worker’s Compensation Claims Managers Kathy McLean or Jen Hamelin at 916-850-7300 so we can provide special reporting instructions.
Looking for Effective Cost Reduction Strategies? Check out the EMMP!
Is your department looking for effective cost reduction strategies? Are you looking to bring measurable savings to your entity? Do you want to insure the potentially variable cost of maintaining your equipment? Look no further than the Equipment Maintenance Management Program (EMMP). EMMP is an insured program that achieves 25% cost reductions and savings by consolidating equipment maintenance service contracts and providing an asset management system. The program consolidates your qualified equipment under one program that: reduces the administrative burden of dealing with multiple service contracts, identifies poor performing equipment, manages strategic vendor relationships, improves equipment performance, and delivers significant immediate “hard dollar” savings, without disrupting business practices or operations. To learn more about the program, here it is the informational flyer or take a look at the instructional webinar "Equipment Maintenance Management Program (EMMP)" in EIAtv. To discuss further contact Robert Schimke or Adam Schuster.
