Safety Management Certification Training

Overview

NOTE: Day 2 & 3 sessions will take place in the same location as Day 1:

Santa Barbara Veterans Memorial Building (Auditorium)

This 3 day course* is designed to improve students' safety management skills through interactive learning and group presentations. The instructors are Juan Cajandig and Travis Clemmer of the EIA's Loss Prevention department. In this class, students will be immersed in (3) full day courses.

  • Accident Investigation: Getting the Facts (2 parts)
  • Cost Reduction through Loss Analysis: Risk Control & Hazard Identification, Loss Analysis and How to Use It, Effective Ways to Communicate Hazards/ Resolutions to Top Management, and How to Develop and Implement Effective Control Measures
  • Applying Your Safety Skills: Group Planning & Delivery of Executive Summary
  • Review of Take-Home Assignment

Day 3 Agenda: Thursday, November 19, 2015

Additional Information and Rules:

  • Doors open at 7:30 a.m. and class will start promptly at 8:00 a.m.
  • Students must attend all 3 class days
  • Students will have 2 homework assignments that give them the opportunity to apply what they have learned in class. It is essential that students complete these assignments on time and according to the guidelines. Students who fail to complete the homework on time or within set guidelines will not be able to take the Final Exam. To ensure learning retention of course objectives, a Final Exam will be administered. Students must score 80% or higher to pass.
