Update on Workers' Comp Developments in 2015 and Anticipated Trends for 2016

Overview

While this webcast is open to all EIA members, some of the Eyres Law Group Services are only available to members of the PWC and/or GL1 programs.

Overview

This year has been a busy one for both the legislature and the courts, in relation to workers’ compensation claims management. This webinar will focus on the most recent developments that will impact public entities in managing and resolving industrial injury claims. Patricia Eyres, of the Eyres Law Group, will take you through the legislation that was enacted, as well as bills the Governor vetoed and what we already see for legislative proposals in the next session.

Topics Discussed

There are also a number of significant cases that will impact public entities in the coming year involving:

  • Benefits for regular public safety officers and volunteers
  • Apportionment decisions
  • The constitutionality of independent medical review
  • Issues surrounding liens and lien activation fees
  • Admissibility of alternative medical reports, and more.
