Recap of the 2017-18 Legislative Session: Education Edition

Overview

Recap of the 2017-18 Legislative Session: New Labor, Employment & Ed. Code Laws for California School Districts and County Offices of Education

Join attorney Patricia Eyres, managing partner of Eyres Law Group, as she reviews the legislative changes of the current 2017-18 session as they relate to education.

There are dozens of new employment and education laws set to become effective on January 1,
2018. Which ones will affect your district workplaces and classrooms? As usual, they run the gamut from amendments to the way workers’ compensation claims are processed and resolved, to more job protected leaves,  new FEHA amendments and workplace safety codes. Although the Governor vetoed the six weeks of paid pregnancy disability leave, there are several new Education Code amendments that will affect leaves, benefits and rights of certificated and classified employees.  This webinar will alert you to the newest statutory standards that will affect your district, students and programs, address necessary policy changes, and provide tips for managing new compliance requirements.
