Minors and the Law
Topics we will cover during this hour and a half session on "Minors and the Law" will include:
Who consents for a minor when the parents are divorced, or absent?
Who consents for wards or dependents?
When can a minor consent to his or her own care?
Who is an emancipated minor in California?
What are "sensitive services" and what criteria must be met for sensitive services consent?
Who controls the chart when a minor could have, or did consent to the care?
Who pays for minor consent services when the minor is covered on a parent's insurance plan but doesn't want EOB (explanation of benefits) letters sent?
